CTG ARMS CACHE DISCOVERED IN GUEDAY, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (July 2, 2021) – Acting on an intelligence report, an operation was conducted by the joint forces of PNP Mountain Province and the Philippine Army which resulted in the discovery of an arms cache of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Barangay Gueday, Besao, Mountain Province on July 1, 2021.

Citing reports submitted to the PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, operatives of Besao Municipal Police Station together with 69th IB 7th ID of the Philippine Army launched an operation that resulted in the discovery of the hidden arms cache in the area.

The recovered weapons and communication materials from the cache were: one (1) Elisco M16 A1 rifle with defaced serial number; one (1) 2.3 kgs command-detonated explosives; four (4) 1 kg each command-detonated explosives; 100m electrical wire; two (2) Motorola radios; one (1) i-com radio with charger; one (1) keypad Sony Ericson cellular phone; and one(1) electrical digital tester.

The recovered items were brought to the custody of 69th IB in Nambukayan, Ilocos Sur for safekeeping and proper disposition. (PROCOR-PIO)
