PROCOR COPS AND BFP-CAR TRAINED ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, SEARCH, RESCUE AND RELIEF OPERATION

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (June 19, 2021) – Supporting the National government’s campaign plan on preparedness against natural disasters and calamities, the Police Regional Office Cordillera ( PROCOR) launched a 5-day training on Disaster Preparedness, Search, Rescue, and Relief Operations Seminar held at CDRRMU Operations Center, Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet from June 14-18, 2021.

 A total of 69 participants attended the said seminar, of which, 54 police officers are from Benguet PPO, Baguio CPO and RMFB15; additional 15 participants are from BFP-CAR. The training consists of 2 days lecture and 3 days drills application that mainly aims to prepare police rescue units for possible disaster response and deployment in search and rescue operations especially this coming rainy season.

Apart from advancement of competencies on disaster response, the training gives the participants the opportunity to exchange best practices and learn how to efficiently work together that will certainly enhance interoperability and effectiveness in the conduct of search and rescue operations.

The training also equips the participants with  knowledge and skills on PNP Disaster Response Checklist, Disaster Incident Management, Community Preparedness Response and Post Actions to Calamity as they conducted drills and scenarios on Basic Firefighting Concepts, Rope Course, High Angle Rescue and Basic Life Support.

With this training, the participants are expected to be knowledgeable on responding to different cases of disaster rescue and management, especially those that are common in our locality. (PROCOR-PIO)
