PROCOR awards four COPS for Anti-Illegal drug accomplishments

Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – (April 19, 2021) –  The Police Regional Office Cordillera has awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) to four Cordillera cops for their notable accomplishments in the region’s fight against illegal drugs during the traditional Monday Flag Raising ceremony on April 19, 2021.

PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE awarded the medals to PLT GIDEON A BENNAGUEN, PMSg John Ray S Date, PLT LYSTER W ABAG, and PCpl Neil M Agyao.

PLT BENNAGUEN and PMSg Date, both from Benguet Police Provincial Office, were awarded for their efforts in the successful Marijuana Eradication that resulted in the destruction of P12.64 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants on March 7 to 11, 2021 at Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.

Likewise, PLT ABAG of the Regional Intelligence Division and PCpl Agyao of Kalinga PPO, were commended for the successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of Ruben Buccay Appag and confiscation of dried Marijuana in bricks and tubular form weighing 18.393 kilos with street value of Php 2, 207, 247.00 at Barangay Lucog, Tabuk City, Kalinga on April 7, 2021.

The awarding of medals is based on the NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 93-018 “Prescribing the Authorized Decorations, Service Medals, Ribbons and Badges of the Philippine National Police” in due recognition to personnel’s outstanding performance of police functions and activities. (PROCOR RPIO)
