Over P2.4M worth of marijuana bricks seized, Drug Personality busted

A total of Php 2,400,000.00 worth of marijuana bricks were intercepted in a Police Checkpoint while a drug personality will now be facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 on July 23, 2022. 

Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, RMFB15 and RECU-COR have intercepted a total of 20 marijuana bricks weighing more or less 20 kilograms with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 2,400,000.00 loaded in a passenger van in a police checkpoint in Brgy. Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

According to the report of Tabuk CPS, the driver of a passenger van received a booking from a client who instructed him to pick up two boxes of coffee in Brgy. Agbannawag, Tabuk City. Accordingly, the said package is to be transported in Bulacan.

Upon arrival in Brgy. Agbannawag, a male person on a motorcycle escorted the driver to Lacnog East, Tabuk City wherein another two individuals loaded the two boxes inside the passenger van.

Being suspicious about the package, when the driver happened to pass a checkpoint in Sitio Talaca in Brgy. Agbannawag, he informed the duty police officers about the suspicious package.

Then the police officers immediately inspected the package which yielded the discovery of the 20 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks

Meanwhile, in a buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City, suspect Roger Agpaoa, 27, listed as Street Level Individual, was arrested by the joint operatives of Baguio CPO and PDEA-CAR after selling one plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.5 gram with an SDP of Php 3,400.00.

The markings and inventory of the recovered pieces of evidence seized were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by the respective representatives from DOJ, media, and barangay officials.

The suspect and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of BCPO Marcos Highway Police Station (PS10) for documentation and proper disposition. (PROCOR-PIO)
