Over 55.5 Million worth of Marijuana plants eradicated by PROCOR COPS

Another P55.5 Million worth of Marijuana Plants were destroyed in separate marijuana eradication operations by the joint operatives of PROCOR Cops and PDEA Cordillera in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga from May 17-20, 2021.

According to the report given to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the intensified anti-illegal drug clearing operation of the PROCOR cops and PDEA Cordillera led to the discovery of five (5) plantation sites in Benguet while seven (7) plantation sites in Kalinga.

In Benguet, during their three-days operation starting on May 17, PROCOR cops discovered a total of 8,650 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) amounting to Php 1,730,000.00 within an estimated 1,100 square meters in a communal land at Sitio Dalipey, Tacadang.

Meanwhile, Kalinga Provincial Director, PCOL DAVY LIMMONG reported that their two-day operations on May 19-20, joint operatives of PROCOR cops and PDEA Kalinga led to the discovery of 268,400 fully grown marijuana plants worth Php 53,680,000.00 and 2,500 marijuana seedlings worth Php 100,000.00 within a total land area of 29,400 square meter marijuana plantation sites in a mountainous area of Butbut Proper.

With a total of 277,050 FGMP and 2,500 marijuana seedlings found and uprooted in both provinces amounting to Php 55,510,000.00, all were burned on site after properly documented. (PROCOR-PIO)
