Farmer arrested due to Firearms and Ammunition Law violation

Law enforcement operations of CIDG Baguio and Tuba MPS yielded to the arrest of a farmer for violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition in the implementation of a search warrant at Sitio Topinao, Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet on September 5, 2021.

According to reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the operatives implemented the search warrant issued by Hon. Mervin Jovito S Samadan, Acting Executive Judge of RTC Branch 40, Dagupan City which resulted in the arrest of Alberto Galwan Lamsie, 71 and a resident of Sitio Topinao, Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet

During the implementation of the search warrant, found and confiscated at Lamsie’s residence were: one (1) Cal. 22 rifle; 10 live Ammos for Caliber 22; one (1) wire fuse colored red; two (2) pieces improvised blasting cap and; three (3) pieces Emulsion Explosive.

According to the same report, the involvement of the suspect in an alleged indiscriminate firing and threatening of his neighbors using his undocumented firearm sometimes on August 2021 at his residence prompted the operatives of CIDG Baguio to conduct surveillance and apply for Search Warrant.

The items were seized and the suspect was brought to CIDG Baguio for proper documentation while charges for violation of Comprehensive Law on firearms and ammunitions Regulation Act (RA 10591) are being prepared against him. (PROCOR-PIO).
