Small Scale Miners – Luneta Miners Asso. undertakes tree planting

Itogon, Benguet – (July 6, 2022) –  A total number of 585 participants joined the tree planting composed of Small-Scale miners and residents of Sitio Luneta community also with the participation of BFSSMI represented by Board of Director members Pablo Tudlong and Alfred Bugnosen.

The activity was led by LMA President John Latongan, LMA Vice-President Pablo Tudlong, and Jeanne Valencia – LMA Environment Officer.

The planting site was at the Claycreek reforestation area at Antamok, said site is a continuous reforestation program of Benguet Corp in partnership with LMA.

To date, more than 10 hectares have been planted over the years.

Today, the total planted area is 1 hectare.

1,500 Pine seedlings, Mangium, and Narra were planted.

With the support of Benguet Corp provided the seedlings with the joint nursery program of BC and LMA.
