P3.6 M Marijuana transport thwarted in Sadanga; 2 transporters arrested

Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – (April 23, 20210) – The immediate response of police and PDEA operatives led to the foiling of P3.6 M marijuana transport and the arrest of two alleged transporters in a checkpoint operation at Sitio Ampawelin, Poblacion, Sadanga, Mountain Province in the midnight of April 23, 2021.

Citing reports from Sadanga MPS, PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE identified the arrested suspects as Louigie Erguiza Param and Bernard Hope Poyaoan Bravo II, both 22 years old and residents of Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Prior to the arrest, an anonymous tip was received by Sadanga MPS regarding a marijuana transportation thru a vehicle alleged to be coming from the Kalinga area carrying bricks of marijuana. Immediately, coordination was made with the PDEA Mountain Province and nearby police units for the establishment of checkpoint at Sitio Ampawilen where they flagged down a Black Toyota Sedan.

The operation led to the arrest of the suspects after 30 bricks of marijuana and one in tubular form weighing 30.75 kilos with estimated worth of Php 3,609,000.00 were taken from the transport vehicle.

Operatives inventoried on-site the seized evidence in the presence of Poblacion Punong Barangay Eliang Anongos, Kagawad Ben A. Faguingas and media representative Apolo Padasen.

The suspects underwent drug testing at the Regional Crime Laboratory Office and will be brought to the Sadanga MPS pending inquest proceedings for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PROCOR RPIO)
