MINOR STUDENT NABBED FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

Camp Major Bado, Dangwa La Trinidad, Benguet – Following an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen, a minor student was apprehended for marijuana possession in a checkpoint on March 11, 2021 at Barangay Liwan West, Rizal, Kalinga.

According to a report from the Kalinga Police, a concerned individual reported to Rizal Municipal Police Station (MPS) about a person who bought Marijuana at Sitio Ileb, Barangay Nambaran, Tabuk City. The person was described as male, wearing a red jacket with a red backpack riding a bike, and going to the Tuguegarao City direction.

Further report revealed that personnel of Rizal MPS while conducting checkpoint, stopped a person with the same description given by the concerned individual.  While checking his backpack to get his mask, a bag containing mixed Marijuana seeds, leaves, and stalks with an estimated weight of 450 grams worth Php 54,000.00 fell from the suspect’s bag. This prompted the personnel to apprehend him.

The confiscated items were inventoried onsite in the presence of Liwan West Punong Barangay Obdula De la Cruz Antonio, Kagawad Andres Lopez Ranjo, and Media Representative Melisa Gunnaban Guavez.

Furthermore, the apprehended person was found out to be minor, thus will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition. (PROCOR RPIO)
