Ifugao town closes tourist sites anew

MAYOYAO, Ifugao, April 13(PIA) – – Tourist sites in this municipality are temporarily closed anew until further notice   as part  of preventive measures  with  the surging cases of the Coronavirus Disease – 2019 in the province.

Mayor Jimmy Padchanan, Jr.  said the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force decided that all tourist spots will be closed  to the public- foreign and domestic or local  tourists including residents of the municipality – starting April 8, 2021 until further notice.This is for strict compliance and implementation,he stated.

 These tourist sites   include the  A’phaw Mahencha and  Tenogtog waterfalls, Museum, Mt. Nagchajan View Deck and Khohang Garden and View Deck. These  were reopened  last  March 15 to residents  by virtue of Executive Order No. 2021 – 12 after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Padchanan advised residents to limit movements outside their homes for essential purposes only and strictly comply with basic health protocols.  He also encourage residents to be  vigilant in reporting any person entering the municipality coming from other cities or municipalities.

As of April  12, 2021, the municipality of Mayoyao recorded a total of 22 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 12 recovered and 10  active cases.

For the province of Ifugao, the provincial COVID 19 Monitoring reported  a total of 1,020 confirmed  with 504 active   cases, 685 recoveries  while 12 have died.  (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
