City Hall to level up offices
City Hall plans to level up the interior design of its offices to make them more functional and suitable to the needs of both the employees and the transacting public.
“As with other projects like the parks and barangay halls, we should have upgraded standards for our offices not only for aesthetic purposes but also for functionality,” Mayor Benjamin Magalong said.
The City Administrator’s Office refurbished in 2021 now serves as a model for office renovation and fit-out (finishing) for other City Hall offices.
It features modernized interior design that mirrors that of a corporate setting. The layout also suits the new normal requirements for a safe workplace.
City Administrator Bonifacio Dela Peña said the materials used were stylish but economical including the cost-effective lighting fixtures.
The design included small details like the provision of a built-in box to secure cables and wires for neatness and organization.
Dela Peña said renovations of offices are done based on prioritization due to limited budget.
After the City Administrator’s Office, other offices urgently needing upgrading will follow based on available finances.
Renovation however will be confined to the interior and will not cover the facade since City Hall building is a structure of historical significance mandated to be preserved, Dela Peña said. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
