Court case filed against driver involved in fatal Loakan access road mishap

The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) have arrested the 19-year-old male driver involved in a fatal vehicular accident who hit a 45-year-old female pedestrian traversing Loakan Access Road on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025.

In the spot report released by BCPO Public Information Officer PMaj. Marcy Grace Marron, the suspect is now facing a case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide.

Based on the police report, the incident transpired at around 1:18 PM Wednesday, along Loakan Access Road, Loakan Proper, Baguio City, involving a Honda Brio.

Initial police investigation disclosed that the vehicle was coming from Barangay Kias and traversing Loakan Access Road towards Purok Ongasan when it accidentally hit the victim while crossing the street at that time.

“As a result of the impact, the victim sustained an open skull fracture with exposure of brain matter, which caused her instantaneous death.

She was declared dead at around 1:55 PM on the same date by Dr. Dandeo F. Halog, City Medical Officer IV,” the police report reads.

It furthered, the case was referred to duty inquest prosecutor for possible inquest proceedings on the same date, but the lawyer of the complainant decided to go for regular filling to build a tight case.

The respondent was released by Police Station 4 at around 11:30PM on the same day.
