Youth leaders completed Youth Development Session (YDS) in Apayao

A total of 283 youth leaders completed the three-day Youth Development Session (YDS) initiated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) and Local Government Unit (LGU) of Apayao and Benguet.

In Apayao, a total of 60 Out-of-School youths and students from the different schools in Brgy. Marag Valley, Luna joined and successfully completed the Youth Development Session from November 5 to 7, 2022.

Meanwhile, in Benguet, a total of 66 students from Madaymen National High School in Kibungan and 157 students from Sablan National High School in Sablan completed the three-day Youth Development Session from November 7 to 11, 2022.

The Youth Development Session (YDS) is a program of the DSWD under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and is being implemented in partnership with the Police Regional Office Cordillera and the Department of Education (DepEd).

The program aims to prepare the youth morally, mentally, physically, and spiritually for their future endeavor by helping, and molding them to become more productive and better members of the community through a series of planned and strategic activities.

As part of the program, lectures regarding deceptive propaganda of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) were emphasized, and lectures on self-development, mental health awareness, and parents-family foundation were discussed with the participants.

Further, to make the lectures livelier, the participants underwent various activities such as banner-making, yell-making, and team-building activities. (PROCOR-PIO / File Photos)
