P84.2M Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized; 18 Drug Suspects Arrested in PRO CAR’s Weeklong Drug Ops
The regionwide implementation of intensified anti-illegal drug operations by the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) resulted in the seizure of more than P84.2 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 18 drug personalities in a weeklong operation conducted from February 8 to 15, 2026.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division of PRO CAR, a total of 56 anti-illegal drug operations were carried out across the region. These included 37 marijuana eradication operations,16 buy-bust operations, two implementations of search warrants, and one police response.
As a result of these operations, 219,775 fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed, along with 335,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks with leaves and fruiting tops. In contrast, 20.91 grams of shabu were confiscated, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP84,297,204.32. Of the 18 arrested individuals, all were listed as Street Level Individuals (SLI). They now face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The most significant accomplishments were recorded in Benguet, where the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) successfully confiscated illegal drugs with an SDP amounting to PhP68,372,120.00 and arrested eight SLIs. This was followed by the Kalinga PPO, who seized illegal drugs valued at PhP13,450,200.00 and apprehended one SLI. Meanwhile, the Mountain Province PPO confiscated dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops worth PhP2,400,000.00.
In Baguio City, the Baguio City Police Office seized PhP55,080.00 worth of suspected shabu and arrested five SLIs. In Abra, the Abra PPO arrested one SLI and confiscated suspected shabu amounting to PhP12,240.00. Similarly, in Ifugao, the Ifugao PPO seized PhP5,848.00 worth of suspected shabu and arrested one SLI, while in Apayao, the Apayao PPO confiscated PhP1,716.32 worth of suspected shabu and apprehended two SLIs.
These accomplishments reflect PRO CAR’s strong partnership with communities and government agencies in maintaining peace, order, and public safety across the Cordillera region through a unified approach against illegal drugs.
