Magalong calls for ‘strategy refresh’ to update action plan for Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong wants to revisit his administration’s action plans set at the start of his term for adjustment and fine-tuning in accordance with the current upheavals being experienced.

“We will do a strategy refresh to make sure that our strategies will be responsive to the need of the times,” he said in his first public address for this year delivered during the City Hall flag-raising ceremonies Jan. 4.

During the Management Committee meeting held Jan. 6, the mayor tasked the City Planning and Development Officer headed by CPD Coordinator Donna Tabangin to spearhead a workshop that will review the plans, programs and actions(PPAs) set in the city’s Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) for years 2020-2022 which were laid down to pursue the administration’s 16-point agenda.

“Let’s review our strategies, assess them and come up with a prognosis so we can tweak our approaches if need be to make them more responsive, relevant and effective,” the mayor told the department heads.

The ELA contains the list of PPAs under each of the 16 core agenda namely: Speeding Up Government Actions; Revitalizing the Environment; Innovating Peace and Order Condition; Aggressive Traffic Management; Responsive Education Programs; Empowering the Youth; Expanding Health and Social Services; Responsible Tourism; Enlivened Culture, Arts, Crafts, and Heritage; Market Modernization; Efficient Disaster Management; Empowered and Accountable Barangay Governance; Strengthened Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Services; Poverty Reduction; Resolution of Indigenous People Land Issues); and Happiness. – Aileen P.
