City condoles with families of late barangay officials

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified separate city council resolutions expressing the city government and its constituents’ condolences on the recent passing of two barangay officials of the Summer Capital.

Resolution no. 288, series of 2022, expresses the deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of the city’s officialdom and constituency to the bereaved family of Teresita Salero Lingayo, former punong barangay and barangay kagawad of Gabriela Silang who died on July 13 at the age of 90.

“Her dedication to public service as punong barangay set a brilliant example of a strong woman serving for two terms  in a row, leading to a number of programs, projects and developments for the constituents of Gabriela Silang barangay and the city as well,” the measure states.

It states that Lingayo’s efforts and contributions to the barangay and city are greatly valued and her passing is a great loss not only to her family and friends but especially to the barangay and city whom she has faithfully served.

“Her dedication to public service and support to the projects, programs and activities of Gabriela Silang barangay as well as to the City of Baguio are worthy of appreciation and recognition,” the resolution states.

Meanwhile, resolution no. 287, series of 2022, expresses the deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of the city’s officialdom and constituency to the bereaved family of Antonio E. Padlan, former barangay kawagad of Lower Rock Quarry and retired assistant department head of the General Services Office.

“His dedication to public service as barangay kagawad for eight years and as city assistant department head for five years has brought various programs, projects, improvements and developments to the constituents of Lower Rock Quarry barangay and the city of Baguio,” the measure states.

It adds that Padlan’s efforts and contributions to the barangay and city are well-appreciated and his demise is a great loss to his family and friends but especially to the barangay and the city whom he has faithfully served. – Gaby B. Keith
