Businesses with case clusters told to intensify anti-COVID measures
BAGUIO CITY – (11 March 2021) – After getting the commitment of the business process outsourcing (BPO) companies to address the surge in Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the city government last March 9 met with the various business establishments with clustering of cases in the past days to guide them in taking measures to control the outbreaks.
City Permits and Licensing Officer Allan Abayao said a total of 11 establishments belonging to the four groups with case clusters attended the meeting called upon by Mayor Benjamin Magalong to break the transmission.
As this developed, BPO and other companies hit by outbreaks had started complying with their commitments.
Abayao said some had implemented aggressive testing and strengthened their safety measures for their employees. They also expressed appreciation of the guidance being given by the city government to facilitate these preventive strategies.
In the latest meeting, establishment owners gave their commitment to implement measures to prevent further infections on the following:
*To conduct a meeting with their tenants and lessees to review and improve their health and safety protocols;
*To designate health protocol officers to ensure strict implementation of the protocols;
*To implement building policies aligned with the new normal operations and incorporate the same in their lease contracts;
*To submit schedule of quarterly testing using antigen or pooled method;
*To ensure that their workers with residence outside the city are complying with the cityβs entry protocols;
*To have their employees register with StaySafe and Baguio in my Pocket applications for easier contact tracing.
As with the BPOs, compliance with all the accords will be monitored by the City Mayorβs Office through the Permits and Licensing Division and the Management Information Technology Division and the City Health Services Office through the Sanitation Division. β Aileen P. Refuerzo
