City commends DTI-CAR Director Pablo

22 July 2021 – The city council has adopted a resolution commending Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera (DTI-CAR) regional director Myrna Pablo for her invaluable service to the city of Baguio and the region, and for championing the coffee industry.

As regional director, her responsibilities included the overall management and implementation of trade, industry, and investments programs in the region and is responsible for the formulation and directs the implementation of plans, programs, projects, and activities in support of DTI mandates in enabling business and empowering consumers.

On June 25, 2010, Pablo led the DTI-CAR team towards achieving the ISO 9001:2008 certification, among the first agencies to be certified, and on October 1, 2018, it gained ISO 9001:2015 certification.

She also spearheaded the accreditation of DTI-CAR  in the Civil Service Commission’s  Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) becoming the first and only government agency in the region to be accredited and awarded PRIME-HRM Level II in 2016.

Pablo was instrumental in the institutionalization of the Philippine Coffee Conference as a way of knowledge updating and upgrading among major industry stakeholders in partnership with the Department of Agriculture and private industry stakeholders as well as the institutionalization of the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition.

As a champion of the coffee industry and being a National Industry Cluster Coordinator, her accomplishments include finalizing the Philippine Coffee Industry Roadmap 2017-2022 that was signed by the DA and DTI Secretaries on March 7, 2017, instrumental in the creation of the Philippine Coffee Council, and the conduct of the Annual National Industry Strategic Evaluation and Planning of Coffee regions.

As team leader of the DTI-CAR National Coffee Industry Cluster Team (Group Category), Pablo was awarded regional winner/nominee to the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award in the 2019 Search for Outstanding Government Workers in CAR.-Gaby B. Keith
