Vaccination statistics and utilization (As of July 19, 2021)

22 July 2021 – Vaccines in the city reached a utilization rate of more than a hundred percent, City Health Services Office (HSO) head Dr. Rowena Galpo reported during the management committee meeting with Mayor Benjamin Magalong, City Administrator Bonifacio dela Pena and city executives present, Wednesday, July 21.

This was despite wastage of 238 doses or 0.63% of the total allocated vaccines, due to manufacturing defects. This happens when the multi-dosage vaccine pack has more doses, and is still with an excess which is counted as wastage. According to Dr. Galpo, a vaccine pack supposedly good for ten doses produces at least 12 to 13 doses with an excess.

Of the 68,729 allocated Sinovac, 66,229 doses were used, thus utilization of 96.36%; 35,100 allocated Pfizer had 36,218 doses with the utilization of 103.18%; 5,400 Gamaleya vaccines had 5,675 doses with the utilization of 105.09%. From the allocated 16,530 AstraZeneca; 21,428 vaccinees were jabbed with extra 4898 doses and a utilization rate of 129.63%. A 102.53% utilization rate comes from 129, 550 jabs of the 125,759 total vaccines, it was noted.

The city vaccination program has 182,206 registrants, which is a moving target, according to team member Dr. Khecy Manuel-Colas. Of the said number, 43.44% or 79,153 had the first dose. There are 50,397 who were jabbed with the second dose, or 63.67% of the first dosers.

For the daily vaccination report, there were 22 vaccinated as A1 (healthcare worker), 20 for A2 (Senior citizen), 58 for A3 (Adults with comorbidities), zero for A4 (essential workers), and 3 for A5 (indigent population) for a total of 103 vaccinees.

Also on the same date, there are remaining vaccines for the first dose, 10,900 AstraZeneca; and for the second dose, 8,681 Sinovac; 10,000 Aztrazeneca; 522 Pfizer; and 7 doses of Gamaleya. There are 23 first dose Sinovac for the Mobile vaccination program, for senior citizens and bedridden individuals who cannot access vaccination sites.

Vaccinees should register with bakuna.baguio.gov.ph and present a QR code in vaccination sites. Bedridden individuals need to register and coordinate with the barangay health care worker for vaccine schedule, it was reiterated. – Julie G. Fianza
