9 rebels in Quirino surrenders

DIFFUN, QUIRINO- Nine members of Communist Terrorist Group-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) under the Venerando Villasismo Command operating in Villa Gracia, Maddela and some parts of Aglipay, Quirino surrendered here on Aug. 5, 2021.

Ronaldo M Busania aka Ka Marcial, 47 years old, married and a resident of P2 Brgy. Magsaysay, Diffun, Quirino turned over one caliber .38 Revolver and three live ammunition for Cal. 38.

The other members who denounced their membership to the rebel group were: Johnwe E. Ponceja, 41 years old, married, farmer; Mario C. Gatchalian, 49 years old, married, farmer; Alex V. Dansel, 30 years old, married, farmer Jimmy R. Ramel, 47 years old, married and farmer; Joseph A. Magpali, 45 years old, single, farmer; Danny Boy E. Ponceja, 35 years old and Dino B. Gatchalian,  40 years old, single, farmer all residents of Diffun, Quirino.

Meanwhile, Jesus D. Corpuz aka “Apo”, 56 years old, married, farmer, and a resident of P1 Brgy. Palacian, San Agustin, Isabela also surrendered here on same date. Apo is an NPA Sa Barrio under Regional Sentro De Gravidad-Cagayan Valley. He voluntarily turned over one unit of Armscor Shotgun with defaced serial number.

PCol. Rommel A Rumbaoa, director of Quirino Police Provincial Office said that the surrender of the CTGs was due to the collaborative effort of authorities here in intensifying the “Lingkod Bayanihan Program” in support of the national government’s directive and campaign to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) and series of Community Support Program activities and dissemination of Enhanced Local Integrated Program (E-CLIP).

“I urge the remaining members of the CPP-NPA to surrender so they can avail the programs of the government and live a peaceful life”, he said.

Diffun Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit, Quirino Criminal Investigation and Detection Team and 1st Mobile Force Company with the assistance of Barangay Officials of Magsaysay, Diffun, Quirino headed by Barangay Captain Adonis Magpali facilitated the peaceful surrender of the said rebels. #   Mae Barangan
