15 Drug personalities surrender, took oath renouncing the use of illegal drugs

Fifteen (15) drug personalities voluntarily surrendered to authorities and officially took their oath renouncing the use of illegal drugs in Bauko, Mountain Province on October 22, 2021.

According to Bauko Municipal Police Station (MPS), the drug surrenderees are newly identified drug users in the municipality.

To formally acknowledge their surrender, a program was held at the Liga Building of LGU Bauko with the theme: “Sagip Kapatid, Kasangga sa Pagbabago Program.” This was attended by the DILG, PDEA, Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), and the relatives of the drug surrenderees.

As part of the program, the drug surrenderees took oath that they will stop the use of illegal drugs. Further, they expressed their willingness to participate and undergo programs that will help them change to a substance-free life.

Their surrender was the result of the relentless efforts of the government on the campaign against illegal drugs and the close coordination among the PNP, PDEA, MADAC, and BADAC in their area of responsibility.

Meanwhile, the Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program for the surrenderees is being prepared in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MWSD) and the Local Government Unit of Bauko. (PROCOR-PIO)
