Workshop for city’s young leaders held

Councilors Vladimir Cayabas and John Rey Mananeng discussed the importance of leadership, values and community involvement during the Baguio Placemaking 2025 morning session conducted by the City Planning, Development and Sustainability Office (CPDSO), Dec. 7, at the Baguio City Hall multi-purpose hall.

Participated by the Summer Capital’s youth leaders, the aldermen talked on leadership and community involvement including the 3 I’s – Initiate, Integrity and Influence while also tackling topics on life competencies for young leaders.

Both officials stressed the importance of participatory governance and influencing positive behavior as well as pointed out that accountability isn’t just what we do wrong but also what we fail to do.

“If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail. The greatest failure in life is to never try at all,” they stressed.

During the afternoon session, topics tackled by other resource persons were on social, environmental and citizenship issues including on Baguio as a Creative City.
