Put up of Mansion House museum backed

City officials recently expressed the support of the local government to the plan of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos to put up a new Presidential Museum at the Mansion House to replicate the Teus museum.

In a resolution, Baguio City is one of the notable cities in the country designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a Creative City for Crafts and Folk Arts.

Further, it has been branded as the Education Center of the North as it highly contributes in the city’s economic, cultural, political and social progress, thus, putting up the proposed Presidential Museum will greatly contribute in highlighting the said titles and to further raise historical awareness not only to the people but internationally as it caters to significant events in the country.

Earlier, the First Lady announced that the government will put up a new Presidential Museum at the mansion House to replicate the Teus museum. The said museum will showcase the vibrant and diverse history of Philippine Presidents, housing a vast collection of priceless memorabilia, including presidential attire, footwear, flags and busts sculpted in the likeness of the former leaders.

Moreover, it will also feature a brief description of the circumstances that brought the Presidents to power and some achievements during their time as leaders of the country.

The mansion House serves as the Presidential residence and a witness to significant government affairs conducted in the city over the past several decades.

Copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the first lady for her information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
