PIA Director General emphasizes importance of COVID-19 vaccine

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite Feb. 23 (PIA) –Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director-General, Undersecretary Ramon L. Cualoping III, pointed out that it is important not just to inform and educate the people about the COVID-19 vaccines, but to make them understand the importance of getting vaccinated.
“We want to save lives, we want to revive hopes, and we want to shape the future in order for us to have a Healthy Pilipinas. That is why we have been working hard with experts in the fields of medicine, science and logistics, and other necessary requirements in order for us to facilitate vaccine rollouts as soon and as effective as possible,” explained Cualoping during his message.
The PIA DG was the guest of honor at the flag-raising ceremony of the City Government of Bacoor hosted by the City Public Information Office held Monday, Feb. 22 at the Strike Gymnasium.
In his message, DG Mon also acknowledged the City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla, for their untiring efforts to provide programs and projects for the welfare of the Bacooreños, particularly the LGU’s cooperation and initiative to estabish a swift, orderly and effective rollout of the vaccination program in their city.
“Kami po sa national government ay nandito upang suportahan at asistehan kayo sa Tripartite Agreement na inyong papasukin at sa lahat ng inyong inisyatiba upang mabigyan ng sapat na bakuna ang 70% ng populasyon ng inyong siyudad,” DG Cualoping said.
(We in the national government are here to support and assist you in the Tripartite Agreement that you will enter, and in all your initiatives to provide adequate vaccination to 70% of your city’s population.)
The undersecretary also appealed to the employees and officials of Bacoor City Government for their help in preventing misinformation by disseminating reliable facts and information from confirmed experts and government agency sources, and to refrain from sharing false information in social media platforms that could mislead the people and cause disinformation in this times of desperation.
The PIA with the leadership of DG Cualoping III has embarked on a massive information drive, #InformInformInform and #ExplainExplainExplain, to help in the nation’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and empower the Filipino people by providing true and accurate information.
