PASIG CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) — Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director General Ramon Cualoping III has called on members of local media to help boost confidence of the Filipino public in the COVID-19 vaccination program.

“We are asking for your help to Explain, Explain, Explain the good narrative of the COVID-19 vaccine,” Cualoping said.

The PIA chief jointed Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar in engaging members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) Butuan Chapter to use their influence to encourage others to be vaccinated.

The PIA chief also joined the engagement backing the Secretary Andanr’s call for support from the group to cascade the accurate information to the grassroots level.

“Because the problem is that before, people were often asking when the vaccine would be available. But now that it is underway, people are scared. That is why we are here in CARAGA, to correct misinformation, to dismiss disinformation, and to spread the good news of the greatest Duterte legacy and the COVID-19 vaccine,” he added.

Cualoping assured that the Duterte administration is on top of the situation to ensure that only safe and effective vaccines will be distributed in the country.

As for the PCOO and its attached agencies, Secretary Andanar bared that priority projects are in place to support the national government and amplify its efforts.

He also discussed the institutional reforms championed by the agency in the bid to improve the delivery of accurate and relevant information to the public, as well as the welfare of the media workers.

The Pagdu-aw: Explain, Explain, Explain, an information drive led by the PIA, aims to inform and explain to the public the processes undertaken by the national government to ensure safe and effective vaccines, and to raise the willingness of Filipinos to be vaccinated. (PIA NCR)
