P200K WORTH OF MARIJUANA PLANTS BURNED IN BENGUET

As part of PRO Cordillera’s continued efforts to stop marijuana cultivation in the region, the Kabalyero Cops of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO)  seized a total of Php200,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in a  Marijuana Eradication operation conducted at Sitio Pugongan, Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet on April 5, 2024.

Citing the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO JR., the joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and PDEA-CAR uprooted and burned a total of 1000 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants with an overall total Standard Drug Price of PhP 200,000.00 that was discovered in the said barangay.

The joint effort underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to dismantle illegal drug operations in the region. As investigations continue to identify those responsible for the cultivation, the PNP remains vigilant in its mission to safeguard communities from the perils of narcotics.

Furthermore, as part of their proactive approach, police officers continue to engage in barangay visitations and informational campaigns to bolster anti-drug initiatives within the community. (PRO CORDILLERA PIO)
