CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela-  As a former Sectoral Representative of Agriculture in the City Council,  Mayor-elect Hon. Cesar “Jaycee” Dy, Jr. said he will strengthen his campaign in smart and sustainable agriculture to mitigate the threat of looming food shortage.

“Instead of being a plantito or plantita, I would like to recommend planting vegetables,” Dy said in a brief press conference. Accordingly, he learned the importance of backyard gardening during the height of the pandemic. He said urban planting is one of the projects that he would like to champion and campaign for his fellow Cauayeรฑos.

It can be recalled that Dy was conferred as Councilor of the Year by the Nation Builders and Mosaic Awards 2022. This was due to his staunch advocacy in agriculture that benefited the local farmers. The recognition was held at Grand Ballroom, Okada, Manila on Mar. 19, 2022.
