Mayor Diaz leads cityhood anniversary activities; inaugurates 100-bed capacity hospital

SAN MATEO, ISABELA- The local government of the City of Ilagan led by Mayor Jay L Diaz inaugurated the City of Ilagan Medical Center (CIMC) located in Brgy. Lullutan on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, in celebration of the 9th cityhood anniversary.

This 100-bed capacity hospital with a level 2 classification will be operated by the City Government. It is a state-of-the-art medical facility that envisions a future to be a public health service provider of choice by the community and its neighboring towns.

Its accreditation to the Dept. of Health is still ongoing.

Present during the inauguration was Isabela Governor Rodito Albano and Police Regional Office 2 Director P/BGen. Steve B. Ludan.

Mayor Diaz also graced the blessing of two ambulances and 15 brand new closed van-type vehicles labeled with “ICARE2” that can be used for emergency purposes by the chosen barangays.

The groundbreaking of the provincial offices of the Dept. of Science and Technology (DOST) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology located at the City of Ilagan Civic Center in Brgy. Alibagu was also conducted after the inauguration.

Later on the same day, Mayor Diaz led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with the DOST Hybrid Electric Road Train (HERT) Project at the Community Center of the city.

HERT is an environmentally friendly and alternative mode of transportation. The DOST said that it will not only address the transportation problems in the province but will also provide the local government with an additional source of revenue. Mae Barangan / FNS
