Lot donation for Kias cemetery confirmed
City officials recently confirmed the acceptance of the donation to the Kias barangay represented by punong barangay Timothy C. Pudlao, Jr. of a parcel of land with an area of 20,000 square meters, more or less, located in Mt. Emerald within Proclamation No. 1875 from the Philippine Guarantee Corporation to be used as a cemetery by the said barangay.
Under Resolution No. 322, series of 2023, local legislators stated that to finally give effect, meaning and validity of the said donation, it is imperative for the local legislative body to confirm the acceptance of the aforesaid donation to Kias barangay represented by its punong barangay from the Philippine guarantee Corporation.
Earlier, the council passed Resolution No. 105, series of 2023 supporting the request of Kias barangay for the PGC to donate a parcel of land within Proclamation No. 1875 to be used as a cemetery for its residents with waiver in favor of the said barangay.
The body noted that the cemetery which is located in Mt. Emerald has an area of more or less 20,000 square meters which was declared as a high-risk area by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and is not suitable for residential housing structures.
Subsequently, the PGC has benevolently acceded to the said request and that the Kias barangay council passed Barangay Resolution No. 12, series of 2023 authorizing punong barangay Timothy C. Pudlao, Jr. to sign and accept in behalf of barangay Kais the donation of a parcel of land from the PGC to be used as a cemetery for the barangay.
Copies of the approved resolution will be forwarded to Kias punong barangay Pudlao and the PGC for their information and appropriate action. – Dexter A. See
