LABORER LISTED AS A REGIONAL TOP TEN ILLEGAL DRUG PERSONALITY ARRESTED IN BAGUIO CITY
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet- (June 30, 2021) – As Police Regional Office Cordillera continues to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, a drug suspect listed as a Regional Top Ten Illegal Drug Personality was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by joint forces of PROCOR RID, Baguio City police, and RIU-14 at Jose Abad Santos Drive, Burnham-Legarda, Baguio City in the evening of June 29, 2021.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the suspect was identified as Joey Mar Pislaan Gando aka “Manila Boy,” 30 years old, laborer, and a resident of Tulingan, Barangay 14, Caloocan City.
The arrest of suspect Gando was prompted after he sold to an undercover operative one (1) sachet of suspected shabu weighing 75 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 510, 000.00.
During his arrest, other recovered pieces of evidence from his possession were the buy-bust money used in the transaction, one (1) touchscreen cellphone, one (1) leather brown wallet containing cash and identification cards, one (1) empty small brown envelope, and one (1) empty led bulb box.
The markings and inventory of all the pieces of evidence seized were conducted on site in the presence of Prosecutor Donn Immanuel Vergara, Punong Barangay Teodoro Castro, and Media Representative Janice Juanito as witnesses.
Further, the suspect was brought under the custody of Abanao Police Station for documentation and proper disposition while the confiscated drug item was submitted to Baguio City Crime Laboratory office for qualitative and quantitative examination. The suspect will also be facing a case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PROCOR-PIO)
