INAYAN COPS AIMS TO EDUCATE THE PARTICIPANTS AND ENHANCE THE SKILLS TO PERFORM DUTIES AS PEACEKEEPERS

The Inayan cops of the Besao Municipal Police Station, in collaboration with the Local Government of Besao, successfully conducted a 2-day training for Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPAT) held at Saint James High School Conference Hall, Brgy. Kin-iway, Besao, Mt Province.

During the activity, BPAT’s volunteers from the 14 barangays of Besao actively participated in lectures conducted by police officers of Besao MPS. These lectures focused on the principles of interpersonal communication,  the dos and don’ts in law enforcement, gender and development, and human rights.

Additionally, police officers discussed the roles of BPATs in the government’s campaign on EO 70 (NTF-ELCAC), along with their duties and responsibilities as patrollers, traffic direction and control officers, crime scene responders, and the grounds for warrantless arrest. The training also included demonstrations and practical exercises on proper handcuffing techniques and basic self-defense using Kali, Arnis, and Eskrima.

The activity aims to educate and equip the participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for them to effectively perform their duties and responsibilities as peacekeepers in their barangays and enjoin the community to contribute to ensuring peace, safety, and order in their communities.
