Cordillera gears up for National Vaccination Days Part 2

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – – The Cordillera Regional Vaccination Operations Center(RVOC) is all set for the implementation of the second round of nationwide Bayanihan, Bakunahan dubbed as “National Vaccination Days Part 2”.

Set this Dec 15 to 17, The Cordillera has a committed target of 68,247 eligible population (12 years old and above) to be vaccinated for the 3 – day vaccination program with  Benguet having the highest target with 31,161 followed by Ifugao – 15,261, Kalinga – 9,909, Mountain Province – 6,792, Apayao 3,306 and Abra with 1,818.

Baguio City will also join the NVDs Part 2 but has no target jabs as it has already vaccinated its target 70 percent of the city’s eligible population.

In preparation for the upcoming National Vaccination Days, the RVOC is in constant coordination with the different provincial/city VOCs to look into the needed implementation plan, human resource deployment and other logistics.

RVOC Chairperson and Department of Health Regional Director Dr. Ruby Constantino, in the December 9 RVOC meeting, congratulated all the local VOCs as Cordillera is among the regions that have surpassed their committed target during the Nov. 29 – Dec 1 Bayanihan, Bakunahan.

Cordillera accumulated a total of 114,514 jabs for the 3 – day event, which is a 166.7% accomplishment based on the region’s target of 68,910 jabs.

Constantino also calls for continuing partnership not only for the achievement of the region’s target for NVD Part 2, but also in the overall goal of vaccinating at least 70% of Cordillera’s 2021 projected population.

As of December 9 data, of the 1,275,904 (70% of the 2021 projected CAR population) target, 80.75% or 1,030,288 are   vaccinated with at least one dose while 62.95%   or 803,157 are already fully inoculated.  (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
