CIVILIAN TIP-OFF YIELDS P2.7M MARIJUANA PLANTS IN TINGLAYAN, KALINGA
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – (July 2, 2021) – In response to a civilian tip-off, a marijuana eradication operation was conducted by the operatives of Kalinga PPO, RID/RSOG, and RIU 14 that resulted in the discovery of Php 2.7M worth of marijuana plants in Tulgao East, Tinglayan, Kalinga on July 1, 2021.
Citing reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the operation was conducted when an anonymous report from a concerned citizen regarding marijuana plants being cultivated in the mountainous area of Tinglayan.
Upon arrival at the said place, operatives discovered 13,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP), with a total estimated Standard Drug Price ( SDP) of Php 2,700,000.00 in two plantation sites with an estimated land area of 1,350 square meters.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site after inventory, while operatives are conducting intensive inquires to identify cultivators. (PROCOR-PIO)
