City’s Quality Management Teams, created

13 August 2021 – Mayor Benjamin Magalong has issued executive order no. 91, series of 2021, that institutionalizes the Summer Capital’s 2021 Government Quality Management core team, secretariat and sub-teams.

The order also enumerates the respective key responsibilities, leaders, action officers, coordinators and members of the teams.

It states that the city government of Baguio is a recipient of a grant by the Development Academy of the Philippines to facilitate the establishment or expansion of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) for the city’s management, support and operational processes, to effect improvement in the quality of its services.

The QMS shall cover all processes of all offices and units in the city government’s main office and field offices, as applicable.

On the other hand, the established QMS documented information shall cover all offices and units in the city government’s main office including all field offices, as applicable.

It is expected that the city implements the established QMS to other field offices during or after the project’s duration.

The measure designates  Mayor Magalong as the QMS steering committee project team leader with city planning and development officer Donna Tabangin and city budget officer Leticia Clemente as action officers.

Its key responsibilities are to oversee and manage the Quality Management core team; oversee the effective and timely implementation of the QMS; promote risk-based thinking in overseeing the QMS effectiveness; and more.-Gaby B. Keith
