City lauds Beneco for winning Philreca Awards

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified city council resolution no. 363, series of 2022, commending the Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) for garnering 16 awards during the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperative Association (Philreca) 43rd Annual General Membership Assembly held on August 10 to 13 this year in Iloilo City participated by 93 member organizations.

These awards are the Ace of Tariff that it won for the fourth consecutive year, Gold Stellar, Sustained Improvement, Prompt Payor, Limelight, Strong Commitment to Brotherhood, Occupational Safety and Health Excellence, Extra Mile, MCO Champion, Outstanding Performance, Champion of One EC Network, Outstanding Radio Program, Unparalleled Service, Digital Transformation, Making Difference, and EC-MCO Prime Mover awards.      

Philreca is an umbrella organization of electric cooperatives and consumers nationwide which advocates the sustainability of rural electrification and the improvement of electricity distribution and services.

“The awards brought prestige, honor and pride to the officials, supervisors, employees, member-consumer owners, and the City Government of Baguio and Benguet where Beneco renders its electric services,” the approved measure states.

It adds that “the awards reiterated and proved that Beneco is an outstanding performing rural cooperative that can be depended on even during trying times — whether natural calamities or man-made contributed or initiated.” – Gaby B. Keith
