City laments demise of two former barangay kagawads

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified separate city council measures, considered jointly and collectively, mourning the recent passing of two of the Summer Capital’s barangay officials.

Resolution no. 294, series of 2023, expresses the deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of the city’s officialdom and constituency to the bereaved family of the late former kagawad Elena N. Gabriel of Sto. Tomas Central (School Area) barangay that she served from 2007 to 2018.

“Her dedication to public service as attested by her 11 years of public service in the barangay was exemplified by her support to the projects, programs and activities which has brought improvements and developments for its constituents as well as to the city, is worthy of appreciation and recognition,” the measure stated.

Meanwhile, resolution no. 296, series of 2023, expresses similar sentiments to the bereaved family of the late former kagawad Amy V. Mondero of Kayang Hilltop barangay who served from July 2018 to May 9, this year.

“Mondero dedicated her life to public service, displaying unwavering commitment, tireless dedication, and exceptional leadership during her tenure as barangay kagawad. Her contributions and sacrifices are well appreciated and recognized which made for the improvement of the barangay as well as the city,” the measure stressed.

The resolutions also pointed out the local government’s appreciation and recognition of the contributions and sacrifices of both barangay officials that contributed to improvements in their respective barangays and the city as a whole. – Gaby B. Keith
