City gave food packs, more to thousands of Covid patients in 2021

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) under Betty Fangasan has provided food packs to 11,754 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients in the Summer Capital last year.

Psychological first aid was also extended to 10,237 individuals and financial/medical aid to 754 persons in 2021 according to the CSWDO report.  

The financial/medical aid came from the local government unit and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Senators Imee Marcos and Laurence Go; and DSWD Sec. Rolando Bautista, it revealed.    

The report disclosed that 1,723 individuals were referred to the Barangay Health and Emergency Response Teams and 126 persons to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Philippine Mental Health Association and other local government units.    

Vitamins donated by the Outstanding Women Leaders of Baguio were also handed over to 203 individuals in 2021.

The CSWDO issued 73 solo parent identification cards; 11 social pensions were released; and provided one burial assistance last year. – Gaby B. Keith
