City condolences with family of late South Central Aurora Hill PB

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council resolution no. 362, series of 2022, expressing deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of Baguio’s officialdom to the bereaved family of the late Clarita M. Caluza, former Kagawad and Punong Barangay of South Central Aurora Hill who passed away on August 16, this year.

Caluza was first elected as Kagawad of South Central Aurora Hill barangay in 1986 where she ranked no. 1 and served until 1987. Later in the same year, she assumed the position of Officer-in-Charge as punong barangay until 1989.

“Because of her deep sense of commitment to  service and for the continuity of programs she initiated, she ran and won as punong barangay in 1989. From then on, she had consistently won as PB in succeeding barangay elections from 1989 until 2007.  Before the end of her last term, she went on a leave of absence in 2006 to join her family in the US,” the measure states.

It points out that Caluza was the first female PB of South Central Aurora Hill barangay and conducted programs, projects and activities that were geared towards women empowerment.
“Clarita M. Caluza played an important role in the development and progress of the barangay with her passion for the welfare and interest of children and women that left a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Her achievements, mentorship and leadership shall be an inspiration to the residents of South Central Aurora Hill barangay in their pursuit to achieve their goals and vision in life,” the resolution states. – Gaby B. Keith
