City approves accreditation applications of more organizations

Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed several city council measures approving the accreditations of various organizations in response to the Summer Capital’s Notice of Call for Accreditation.
Resolution nos. 411, 412, and 413, all series of 2002, approves the accreditations of Lifeline Counseling Center, Pro-Life Baguio; Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc. (CFSPI); and Rehabilitation Action for Baguio, Inc..
Meanwhile, resolution no. 414, 415 and 416, all series of 2002, approves the accreditations of Girl Scouts of the Philippines-Baguio Girl Scouts Council; National Chaplains of the Philippines, Inc.; and the Filipino-Japanese Foundation of Northern Luzon, Inc..
Some of the accredited organizations are duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and others with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-CAR and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
The august body’s committee on appropriations and finance, cluster C, in its 4th indorsement dated September 7, 2022, recommended the accreditation of the applicants having found that they have sufficiently submitted and are compliant with all the requirements of the law.
Their accreditations are pursuant to provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations and pertinent memorandum circulars of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and are coterminous with that of the Local Chief Executive.
The resolutions state that the organizations are now eligible for selection as members of the city’s special bodies in accordance with law and are ordered to submit to the city council their annual accomplishment reports and financial statements on or before the 20th day of January of every year. – Gaby B.
