City accredits freedom center

Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified city council resolution no. 648, series of 2023, accrediting the Freedom Center Baguio Philippines, Inc., a duly registered entity with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In its 4th Indorsement dated October 13, 2023, the august body’s Committee on Appropriations and Finance, Cluster C (Investments, Public Indebtedness and Bond Flotation, People’s Organizations, Non-Government Organizations, and matters of general concern), finding the above applicant to have sufficiently submitted and complied with all the requirements of the law, has recommended the accreditation.
The accreditation is pursuant to provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations including pertinent memorandum circulars of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The approved resolution stated that the accreditation is coterminous with that of the Local Chief Executive.
The said organization is now eligible for selection as a member to the city’s local special bodies and to the sectoral or functional committees of the Local Development Council in accordance to guidelines set thereto.
Also, it shall submit to the local legislature its annual accomplishment reports and financial statements on or before the 20th day of January of every year. – Gaby B. Keith
