BRIDGING HOPE IN THE HIGHLANDS: NATONIN COPS CARRY PATIENT THROUGH MOUNTAIN TERRAIN IN NATONIN
In the quiet mountains of Natonin, Mountain Province, where roads are rough and help can sometimes feel distant, three police officers of the Natonin Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with local residents, carried a sick patient through difficult mountain terrain to ensure immediate transport for medical treatment.
In the early morning of May 7, 2026, PSSg Miguel M Palowan and PSSg Roldan B Ma-anao, both members of PSBRC Class 2014-03 “MASIGLAT,” along with PCpl Nazaro A Sabang of PSBRC Class 2017-01 “DALISAY-ALAB,” all natives of Natonin, Mountain Province, received a call for medical assistance from Sitio Tuboy, Brgy. Banawel.
Without hesitation, they coordinated and proceeded to the remote area despite the challenging terrain, enduring more than an hour of travel on foot to reach the patient.
Upon arrival, the team, together with concerned residents, utilized the traditional “fulig” method, using cloth to securely wrap the patient while bamboo poles served as support for transport.
The responders carefully carried the patient across the mountainous path, ensuring the patient’s safety and stability throughout the evacuation.
Despite the difficult conditions, the responding team successfully brought the patient to the roadside, where a mobile patrol vehicle of Natonin MPS was waiting for immediate transport to the Natonin Anastacia Rafael Sagel Memorial Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The joint effort of the police officers and community residents highlights the spirit of “binnadang” and the commitment of law enforcement personnel to extend assistance even in remote and challenging areas. #
