On the other hand, she admitted that Grade 12 NAT results generally showed improvement as there was a 3.25 percent increase in the Grade 12 NAT results from 46.83 percent in 2023 to 50.09 percent in 2024.
She explained that the above level means that the learners exhibited close to meeting the proficiency standards but they still need improvement to fully meet the expectations of the grade level.
According to her, while the NAT results put Baguio on top in the Cordillera, there is still much to do for senior high school.
Moreover, while there is clear evidence that learners have a good reading foundation in elementary, the next level skill set for high school requires learners to be able to manage and use information which is a competency that all of the stakeholders are of help.
She stipulated that the agency also embraced the Aral program which is a national intervention to address learning loss, particularly in Reading, Math and Science. This program is enshrined under Republic Act (RA) 12028 or the law that established an academic recovery and accessible learning program.
