City sets e-waste collection in all barangays

Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued memorandum order no. 115, series of 2023, on the conduct of electronic-waste (e-waste) collection in all barangays of the Summer Capital due to the continuing increase in the volume of undisposed e-wastes here and the lack of a safe disposal space for these resulting in consequences that have cascading effects on human health and the natural environment.

It directs the General Services Office (GSO) under Eugene Buyucan to schedule the collection in all barangays starting November 29 to December 5, this year.

All barangays should also designate a dropping and pick-up point for the e-wastes in their respective jurisdictions on date(s) coordinated with the GSO and ensure that this is disseminated to their residents using the most effective means of communication.

The memo tasks the City Mayor’s Office-Special Services Division led by officer-in-charge Michelle Agbuya to monitor compliance of all barangays to the directive. – Gaby B. Keith
