4.3 million worth of Marijuana bricks seized, courier nabbed

In Tabuk City, Kalinga, thirty-five (35) pieces of marijuana bricks weighing 36.602 kilos with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of four million three hundred ninety-two thousand two hundred forty pesos (P4,392,240.00) were seized by the patrolling officers of Tabuk CPS.

Based on the report of PCOL DAVY VICENTE M LIMMONG, the Provincial Director of Kalinga PPO, to the Regional Director, PBGEN R’WIN S PAGKALINAWAN, personnel of Tabuk CPS while patrolling in Bagumbayan, Tabuk City, a yellow XRM without plate number overtook the vehicle of patrolling officers. Unfortunately, said XRM accidentally stumbled and fell on the shoulder of the road.

As a sign of goodwill, patrolling officers immediately stopped to assist the victim. However, while assisting the victim, one of the police officer noticed from the partially opened bag that it has bricks of suspected dried marijuana.

Immediately, the patrolling officers confiscated the said marijuana bricks then an on-site inventory was conducted in the presence of the representatives from DOJ, Media, and elected barangay officials of Bagumbayan.

In the course of the investigation, the rider was later identified as Jayvie P Saguilot, 19 years old and a resident of Barangay Loccong in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

Mr. Saguilot and the confiscated marijuana bricks were brought to Tabuk CPS for documentation and proper disposition. (PROCOR RPIO)
