July 6, 2021 – As part of his commitment to attain lasting peace in the Cordillera region, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE partnered with different Local Government Units (LGU) and with Philippine Army (PA) to mobilize PROCOR cops not only in conducting combat operations but also Community Support Program (CSP).
CSP is part of the government initiative under EO 70 or End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC), which aims to unite government agencies in conducting peace-building activities, empower the community and deliver government basic services in the far-flung areas of the region.
As of the press time, PROCOR is currently conducting fifteen (15) CSP activities in the region. Four (4) of which are in Abra; three (3) in Mt Province; six (6) in Kalinga ; one (1) in Apayao and one (1) also in Baguio City.
Also, through series of negotiations and with the help of the community, 106 former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and Militia ng Bayan (MB) members surrendered to the police authorities. PBGEN LEE already distributed Php 689,000.00 worth of cash, grocery packs, and livelihood assistance to the Former rebels.
Moreover, recognizing that youth plays a vital role in peace-building, PROCOR has established 147 Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo ( KKDAT) organizations with 2,643 members from Sanguniang Kabataan (SK), students, and out of school youth. ###
