1 DEAD, 14 INJURED AFTER VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS IN KALINGA AND MT.PROVINCE
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet—(July 6, 2021) – One died while 14 individuals were injured in two separate road accidents that happened yesterday July 5, 2021, in Kalinga and Mt.Province.
In Kalinga, a teenager died while 12 passengers incurred injuries after a public utility jeep fell in a 5-meter ravine along the Tanudan–Banaue National Road in Maraggob, Dupligan, Tanudan.
Reports submitted by Tanudan MPS, disclosed that the said vehicle was ferrying 13 passengers from Tabuk City and was heading towards Bawak when the incident took place.
According to the same report, one passenger identified as Jandy Bulawit Gallamoy,16, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver identified as Louie De-eg Suniga, 27 and 12 passengers namely Luz Go-uban Bakasi, 35; Shanica Calubat Carbonell, 9; Emalyn Victory Batang-ay, 18; Geraldine Calubat Carbonell, 36; Shania Keith Calubat Carbonel, 9; Mariel Reyes Samoy, 21; Marquin hill Kibang, 3; Meah Fe Songday Manggat,18; Anacita Dalili Ang-Ang, 77; Claudine Sanad Gallamoy, 21; Shyleen Kyrie Calubat Carbonel, 4 and Frank De-eg Magalim,15, were injured.
The victims were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital and Almora General Hospital for immediate medical attention.
In Mt. Province, a pick-up car on board with five (4) passengers and the driver, fell in a 6-meter ravine while transversing Natonin-Bontoc Road in Sta. Isabel, Natonin.
According to the report submitted by Natonin MPS, the driver identified as Federick Marawis Dawing, 42, lost control of the vehicle due to the slippery road caused by heavy rain.
One passenger identified as Ronie Marawis Matias, 36, incurred minor injuries and was rushed to Anastacia Rafael-Sagel Memorial Hospital for medical assistance, while three (3) other passengers identified as Denmark Bautista Cailin, 34; Jordan Bannawe Calpo, 30; and Recto Dawagan Jacinto, 42, were unharmed.
