TWO DAYS DRUG OPS NETS OVER P21-M WORTH OF MARIJUANA PLANTS

A significant blow has been dealt to drug traffickers operating in the Cordillera Region as PRO Cordillera cops discovered and burned marijuana plants valued at over P21 million in the provinces of Benguet, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.

Reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., disclosed that the Marijuana Eradication Operations were conducted from March 13 to 14, 2024.

In Benguet, joint operatives from the different units of the Benguet  Police Provincial Office (PPO) uprooted and burned a total of 9,165 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FJMP) and 116,000 Dried Marijuana Stalks discovered in 15 clandestine plantation sites in the barangays of Tacadang and Badeo in the municipality of Kibungan and in Barangay Kayapa in the municipality of Bakun.

Simultaneously, in Kalinga, anti-illegal drug operatives of the Kalinga PPO discovered 17,940 FJMP in Barangay Buscalan and Loccong in Tinglayan, while operatives of the Mountain Province PPO seized and burned a total of 8,500 pieces of FJMP in Barangay Saclit, Sadanga.

Operatives are conducting thorough investigations to identify and apprehend individuals responsible for cultivating marijuana plants in the region.
