Trading store closed over deceptive marketing strategy

The city government padlocked a trading store along Kayang St. last July 23, 2022 for engaging in deceptive marketing strategy.

“Ito yung nambibiktima ng mga dumadaan lalo na mga senior citizen at ang lagi nilang panimulang sabihin ay ‘nabigyan ka na ba ng payong?’ at kapag nasa loob na, binobola na ang customer,” City Permits and Licensing Division Chief Allan Abayao said.

He said the closure order signed by Mayor Benjamin Magalong was based on the recommendation of the Dept. of Trade and Industry local office.

He warned similar businesses resorting to deceptive marketing strategies to refrain from their pernicious practices saying the law will catch up with them sooner or later. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
