Sweet Success: Transforming Lives Through Baking in Sto. Rosario Valley

BAGUIO CITY – The Barangay Sto. Rosario Valley successfully implemented a Baking Livelihood Program on September 15, 2025. Spearheaded by Punong Barangay Edwin M. Tablada and facilitated by the Committee on Social Services under Kagawad Rosanna C. Tablada, the program aimed to empower vulnerable sectors, including women, senior citizens, PWDs, and solo parents, by providing hands-on training in baking cupcakes, banana cakes, and macarons. The initiative fostered self-reliance and created opportunities for income generation, with enthusiastic participant feedback and recommendations for future advanced training and support.

I. Rationale
The Barangay Sto. Rosario Valley, through its Committee on Social Services, continues to provide programs and projects that aim to uplift the quality of life of its constituents, especially the vulnerable sectors. Livelihood programs such as baking empower individuals to develop skills that can be transformed into sustainable income-generating opportunities.

II. Objectives
1. To provide participants with hands-on training in baking cupcakes, banana cakes, and macarons.
2. To encourage women, senior citizens, PWDs, and solo parents to explore livelihood opportunities.
3. To promote productivity and self-reliance among participants.
4. To pave the way for continuous training and potential small business ventures.

III. Participants
The activity was actively participated in by members of the Women’s Organization, Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and Solo Parents of Sto. Rosario Valley.
IV. Highlights of the Activity
The livelihood training focused on baking basic and specialty products such as cupcakes, banana cakes, and macarons. Participants gained knowledge in preparation, baking techniques, and presentation, which can be applied both at home and for small-scale businesses.

V. Outcome
The activity was accomplished. Participants expressed enthusiasm for continuing to learn and improve their baking skills. It is hoped that this training will serve as the foundation for establishing small businesses that will provide additional income and livelihood opportunities.
VI. Conclusion and Recommendation
The livelihood program proved to be a meaningful and productive initiative. With proper guidance and continuous training, participants can further enhance their baking skills and transform them into profitable ventures. It is recommended to conduct more livelihood training in the future to support the community in achieving economic growth and self-sufficiency.
