Q3 NSED at SM City Baguio (Duck, Cover and Hold drill)
BAGUIO CITY, (September 26, 2024) – SM City Baguio conducted the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill that was staged at exactly 9 AM the siren started to alarm, and the participants were sent out, while the alarm was ongoing, everyone performed “duck, cover, and hold until they got through to the open space of evacuation area at the flagpole.
The drill demonstrated various crisis scenarios like the July 16, 1990, a catastrophic earthquake of 7.7 Magnitude to raise public awareness about the proper emergency response during and after this hazard.
The NSED is an annual event to assess the readiness of the country’s local disaster risk reduction and management councils and response teams to respond to a strong earthquake.
Work safety drills are necessary because they prepare employees for real emergencies, ensuring they know how to respond quickly and effectively, which can save lives and reduce injuries. # Photo by: Mario Oclaman //Filipino News Sentinel
